Glasshouse District Cross Country Carnival
The Glasshouse District Cross Country carnival on Friday the 3rd of May was a major success once again this year. We had 15 students in years 4 to 6 represent Baringa State Primary School with pride. The weather was perfect in the end despite the rainy leadup and everyone had an enjoyable time.
Congratulations to all the boys and girls who participated, they are to be commended on their behaviour and effort throughout. The way you participated and supported one another showed true spirit, Mr Kimber, Mr Kerley and Miss Deb were very proud of all of you.
Our appreciation goes out to all the parents who were able to attend and make this a memorable carnival for our students. It is great to have your support at these important events.
Thank you to Ash Pitman for the time you put in to kilometre club throughout term one to prepare our running team for the school cross country, your efforts and the staff that supported you through these sessions really helped to prepare the running team involved for the cross-country events.
There were some absolutely outstanding results at the District Carnival and every competitor is to be commended for their efforts. At the conclusion of the Carnival the points were tallied and although it was very close, Baringa State Primary School was awarded the 2024 Cross Country District Championship Trophy!
This is the first time that Baringa has been able to bring home the trophy for this event. Baringa finished on top with only 4 points separating us from St. Michaels College.
Congratulations again to all of our students who participated listed below and also special mention to the students who have now been selected to represent the Glasshouse District at the Regional Championships to be held in early June at Noosaville State School.
We wish you the best of luck and will be eager to see how you go at the next level of representation.
